I’ve been incredibly lax on the blog this month, but with the scorching weather and some rubbish health issues to boot, I’ve struggled to have the motivation to read – or do very much of anything in fact – these past few weeks. I did manage to get through two books in early July though that I should have reviewed long before now.

An Event at Granite Noir and book reviews: Harm by Hugh Fraser and The Rock by Robert Dawes

I was delighted when I saw that crime festival Granite Noir was returning to Aberdeen once more – so rarely do cultural events like this happen any further north than Glasgow or Edinburgh. One event in particular had me really excited to attend: “Familiar Faces, Fantastic Books. In Conversation With Hugh Fraser and Robert Daws” which took place at the Lemon Tree last night.
