My Week of Culture: Macbeth by the National Theatre and Mary Beard’s Civilisations

May is one of my busiest months of the year as a lecturer – there are dissertations to be read, reports to mark, results to be logged before exam boards in June…the list goes on and on. Consequently, I feel like every May I achieve next to nothing outside of work; my evenings and weekends are either spent marking or conking out on the sofa, utterly knackered.

This week however, I’ve been lucky enough to get a bit of a break on the job front, and so I was able to indulge in a bit a culture!
